One of the largest national acts to grace the Vineyard, Dwight joins the ranks of those who have
come before him. Inner Circle Productions is proud to bring this crossover country pop Artist to
the Island.
Over a twenty year period, the Tabernacle has seen the likes of Arlo
Guthrie, Bonnie Raitt,
James Taylor, Carly Simon, Paul Winter and of course The Boston Pops
mongst others. In an
effor to continue bringing community and music together. the
Tabernacle has opened it's arms to
a variety of musical genres over the years. Dwight's wide appeal
which embraces down home
honky tonk country rhythms but also crosses into other pop genres,
is a perfect compliment to
the Tabernacle and the Island. with his top ten single, "Crazy
Little Thing Called Love" climbing
the charts, he begins his summer tour. Traveling from coast to
coast, he will make his way to
Martha's Vineyard by mid August.
Dwight is the only California based singer to rise to sustained national
prominence since the hey
day of Buck Owens and Merle Haggard, with more than eight million records
sold, two Grammy
Awards (and a total of 15 Grammy nominations), and stacks of accolades
for his work as an
actor in films like the Academy Award winning "Sling Blade."
His latest release, "Last Chance For a Thousand Years: Greatest
Hits from the 90's, provides an
extraordinary overview of teh Kentucky born country singer's recent
achievements. "Last
Chance..." also includes theree brand new tracks, "Thinking About
Leaving," written by
Rodney Crowell and Dwight, Waylon Jennings' "I'll Go Back to Her" from
(1976) and his
exuberant cover of Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love."
