Whole Foods Market
20 year Anniversary
In 2000 Kane Productions co-produced the
20 Year Anniversary Celebration for Whole
Foods Market, honoring Sandy Gooch.

Whole foods Market, founded by John Mackey, Craig Weller and Mark Skiles first opened their doors
in September 1980 at 9th Street and Lamar Boulevard in Austin, Texas with just 19 members.  At the
time there was less than half a dozen natural food supermarkets in the United States.  After nearly a
decade of internal growth, Whole Foods Market began to extend its brand across the nation in 1988
through the acquisition of the Whole Food company's wholesome grocery store in New Orleans.  They
have gone on to acquire Bread & Circus, which at the time was the largest natural food retailer in the
Northeast.
